A 78-year-old man was arrested last Friday at Aluisio Alves airport in Natal, Brazil, for trying to board a plane with 4.7 kilos of cocaine hidden in his bras. The flight was bound for Lisbon.
According to the Brazilian Federal Police (PF), the quantity of the narcotic drug was discovered as a result of a verification exercise.
“A total of 36 round bags were found in her suitcase, wrapped in duct tape, hidden in bra models, containing the drug pressed into powder form and serving as a filler,” the PF website said in a statement.
The man, a Swedish citizen, explained to the Brazilian federal police that he had practically met a businessman who offered to cover the costs of his stay in that country.
The man reported that he was approached by an unknown person at the hotel where he was staying in Sao Paulo, a few minutes before leaving for Natal. The businessman will pay the man’s expenses and give him a suitcase to take to Paris, France.
The suspect, who has not been identified, is responsible for the crime of international drug trafficking and is currently being held at PF headquarters.
