Carlos Vila Nova stressed that “CPLP has been in existence for decades” and that “some countries have joined in the middle”, currently numbering nine member states “with a number of associated observers”.
“It may also lead to new dynamics within the CPLP itself and these dynamics may lead us to a new logic, but it is true that Equatorial Guinea is a full member and as a full member it will also live up to its purpose. fulfillment of this presidency,” said Carlos Vila Nova.
Guinea-Bissau will take over the next regular CPLP Presidency in accordance with the mandate between 2025 and 2027, succeeding Sao Tome and Principe.
Carlos Vila Nova assured that he “has nothing against” such a choice.
