Igor Girkin, a former Russian official arrested pending trial on charges of incitement to terrorism, announced this Thursday that he would run for the Russian presidency in 2024.
“I consider myself more competent in military affairs than the current president,” Igor Girkin said. in a post titled “On Being a Candidate for President of the Russian Federation” on the Telegram social network, cited by the agency Reuters.
“The current president is too obedient” and “gullible,” added the critical former Kremlin commander.
