The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, unveiled this Thursday a diploma clarifying the sanctions regime for the detention of drugs for consumption regardless of quantity, according to a note published on the President’s website.
“It establishes regular deadlines for updating regulatory standards by amending Decree-Law No. 15/93 of January 22 and Law No. 30/2000 of November 29,” the note adds.
In another note published on Tuesday, Marcelo Rebelo de Souza called “attention to the fact that the Assembly of the Republic has disagreed with the government on the sensitive issue of determining the amount of drugs in possession of anyone who should be considered a simple user.” or an efficient dealer”, despite the decision.
