Laying hen breeders are required to declare their animals this month, but there is an exception for establishments with fewer than 350 birds or breeding breeding birds.
“All owners of laying hens are required to declare their flocks as of September 1, 2023,” DGAV announced in August.
The declaration must be submitted through the website https://avidec.dgav.pt or to the Regional Food and Veterinary Service.
The exception applies to establishments for breeding laying hens with a population of less than 350 heads and establishments for breeding laying hens.
In February, the mandatory deadline for declaring these animals has already expired.
DGAV is the central service of direct state administration with administrative autonomy.
