The Judicial Police (PJ) announced on Wednesday that a 61-year-old man has been arrested in Vila do Conde, Porto District, on suspicion of sexually abusing dependent children and minors since 2016.
The SP statement clarified that the man “took advantage of the contacts he had with young people in the course of his professional activities in order to gain the trust of the victims by sexually abusing them.”
According to the police, abused children between the ages of 9 and 15 “suffered these attacks until they reported the abuse to their parents this year.”
A detainee without a criminal record was subjected to a ban on contacts with victims and a ban on professional activities involving female minors as coercive measures.
