SDP chairman Luis Montenegro hopes the prime minister will give “explanations that he has not yet given” at the Council of State meeting on Tuesday, as he “already had a lot of time” to “examine the answers.”
“I hope that the Council of State can complete the work it has started and as far as I can see on the news, the Prime Minister will give explanations that he has not yet given because he had to travel and therefore had a lot of time to study answers,” he said.
The PSD leader spoke to reporters while visiting Cudelaria de Alter in Portalegre district during an action included in the Sentir Portugal program promoted by the party.
The State Council will meet on Tuesday to complete the analysis of the country’s economic, social and political situation, which began at the July meeting, as well as to take stock of the international situation.
The meeting of the political advisory body of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will take place at the Belém Palace in Lisbon from 15:00.
Portalegre is the 13th arrondissement, chosen by the President of the SDP in accordance with the commitment he made in the 40th Congress to spend one week a month in the various arrondissements of Portugal.
Luis Montenegro has been touring the 15 municipalities that make up the Alto Alentejo region since Sunday and ends this tour on Wednesday in Portalegre.
