The trial of Donald Trump for attempting to manipulate the result of the presidential election in Georgia is expected to last about four months and will hear one and a half hundred witnesses.
The estimated length of the trial is mentioned in a document sent to the Fulton County Courthouse by State’s Attorney Nathan Wade, who notes that the timeline does not take into account the grand jury selection process, which typically takes several months.
A date for Trump’s trial in Georgia has not yet been set, but the trial of at least two of his 18 co-defendants will begin as early as late October.
Trump and other defendants in the case face charges of organized crime and conspiracy to manipulate the presidential election in Georgia. In addition to this trial, Trump also faces criminal charges in three other cases: for attempting to interfere with the certification of Biden’s victory and encouraging the robbery of the Capitol, for diverting classified documents from the White House and for payments to two former lovers.
