A wedding party saved everyone in the village of Igil Ntalgoumt in Morocco during a magnitude 6.8 earthquake that has already killed at least 2,900 people.
According to Reuters, the wedding ceremony was planned for Saturday, but the bride’s family prepared a party ahead of the wedding. This is a traditional pre-wedding celebration.
One of the couple’s guests recorded a video in which he saw the moment when everyone at the party panicked because of the earthquake. Homes in the area were destroyed while guests enjoyed a party in the courtyard.
“We wanted to celebrate. Then the earthquake happened,” said groom Mohammed Budad.
Despite all the damage observed and several people left homeless, no deaths or serious injuries were reported in this village.
