This Wednesday, Russia accused Ukraine of launching a missile attack on the port city of Sevastopol in Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Moscow in 2014, wounding at least 24 people.
According to the Russian-imposed governor of Sevastopol, the attack occurred around 03:00 (01:00 Lisbon time) and, despite the activation of air defenses, led to a fire at the Svemorzavod naval shipyard.
“According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by rocket fire,” Mikhail Razvozhaev wrote in the Telegram messenger.
As a result of the attack, a landing ship and a submarine of the Russian fleet were damaged, Ukrainian military sources report, as quoted by RBC.
“The damage occurred at the Sergo Ordzhonikidze shipyard in the city of Sevastopol,” representatives of the Ukrainian Military Secret Service (GUR) said, adding that the strike damaged “a large landing ship and a submarine.”
According to two Russian Telegram channels “Baza” and “Vystrel”, the submarine “Rostov” and the warship “Minsk” were damaged as a result of the attack, for which the Ukrainian Air Force took responsibility through its commander Nikolai Oleschuk.
