The only Portuguese player in NBA history is close to continuing his performance in the main basketball league of North America. Nehemias Keta is expected to sign with the Boston Celtics, reports journalist Shams Charania.
A true center, Barreiro must sign a two-way contract to be able to play for the main team and in the G League, a development league for players who don’t belong in the NBA.
Neemias Queta entered the league in 2021 after being drafted by the Sacramento Kings. He spent two years with the Western Conference team before being released Tuesday.
The Portuguese played 20 NBA games for the Kings and was a regular in the G League, where he was named one of the tournament’s top five players last season.
Nehemias’ adventure can now continue in service to one of the most trophy-winning teams in North American basketball. The Celtics have won 17 championships, the same number as their archrival Los Angeles Lakers.
