A 31-year-old woman of Turkish nationality was rescued alive this Monday afternoon on the Carvalhal beach in the municipality of Odemira.
A woman who went swimming received several bruises after getting stuck on rocks due to strong sea waves.
The alarm was raised at 3:42 p.m. and the woman was rescued by Odemira volunteer firefighters at 4:47 p.m.
After stabilizing the situation at the scene, the Odemira Fire Department transported the victim to the emergency department of the Litoral Alentejuno Hospital in Santiago do Cacem.
The rescue operation involved 10 operators, supported by three vehicles from the Odemira Fire Department and the National Maritime Administration.
Remember that in the municipality of Odemir the swimming season has already ended and there are no longer lifeguards on the beaches.
