The man who shot his brother on February 26 after an argument in Vila Pouca da Aguiar, Vila Real district, was charged by prosecutors with qualified murder and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The order, published this Monday on the page of the Office of the Prosecutor General of the District of Porto and dated August 18, states that the prosecutor’s office of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the District of Vila Real (Court of General Jurisdiction in Vila Puca de Aguiar) “has filed an indictment against the defendant, accusing him of committing in conditions real competition between the crime of qualified murder and the crime of possession of a prohibited weapon.”
The text states that the deputy considers “sufficiently charged that on February 26, 2023 at 17:30 in the parish of the municipality of Vila Pouka de Aguiar, the accused after a quarrel with his brother, with whom he was in a quarrel for reasons related to land and cattle, he entered his home and there armed himself with a firearm resembling a shotgun, after which he returned to his brother, approached him, leaned the gun against his body and fired a shot, which caused abdominal injuries that led to his death.”
“In addition to the above-mentioned weapons, the accused possessed 22 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition in his home without having a license to use or carry a weapon, nor possessing a weapon at home, nor a permit to purchase one for that purpose,” the statement further reads. .
The press release ends with the indication that the defendant “continues to await further trial dates, taking into account the preventive measure in the form of forced detention.”
