The General Calculus notice for the Madeira legislative elections, published on Tuesday, maintains the distribution of 47 seats among nine parties announced on Sunday.
“The distribution of mandates remains the same,” said Ana Ribeiro, judge-president of the General Assembly summing up the voting results, noting that the process passed without incident.
Speaking to reporters after the work, which began at 9:00 and ended after 18:00, Ana Ribeiro noted that the only concerns expressed by some delegates were not related to the vote count this Tuesday, “but rather to the shortcomings regarding the documents that arose as a result of partial registration.”
He stressed that the zero votes that were confirmed or rejected also did not have a significant impact and did not change the distribution of mandates.
The PSD/CDU-PP coalition won Sunday’s legislative elections in Madeira without an absolute majority, receiving 58,394 votes and electing 23 deputies, according to final results published Tuesday.
The PS received 28,840 votes (11 mandates), JPP – 14,933 votes (five mandates), Chega – 12,029 (four mandates), HDZ – 3,677 (one mandate), IL – 3,555 (one mandate), PAN – 3 046 (one mandate) and 3035 Belgian pounds (one mandate).
There were 253,877 registered voters and the number of voters was 135,446 (53.35%).
46.65% (118,431 voters) abstained.
These results will now be published in the Diário da República (DR) within a maximum of eight days. Only after the publication of the DR will the new Regional Government of Madeira be able to take up its duties.
