The 20-year-old student of the University of the Interior of Beira (UBI) in Covilhã was found dead this Thursday in the student dormitory where she lived, a source from the command of the volunteer fire brigade of Covilhã confirmed to Lusa.
According to the same source, the alarm was sounded at 9:30 am and the young woman was found in cardiopulmonary arrest and pronounced dead at the scene.
Two ambulances from the Volunteer Fire Department of Covilha and a first aid and resuscitation vehicle (VMER) were mobilized for the Pedro Alvarez Cabral student residence, located near the UBI Center for Social and Human Sciences, in the upper part of the city.
A source from the PSP told Lusa that these security forces also went to the scene and that the Judicial Police took responsibility for the incident.
The university’s public relations office, based in Covilha, Castelo Branco district, said resources were activated to help the person, but the student was already dead when help arrived in the room where she was staying.
