PSD President Luis Montenegro this Friday accused the government of a “lack of shame” in the TAP privatization process. During a visit to Pombal, the Social Democratic leader noted that the executive is “doing in 2023 what was done in 2015,” referring to the privatization of the airline by the government of Pedro Passos Coelho, which was canceled by Prime Minister António Costa. Then the state received a controlling stake in the company, which became fully controlled in 2020.
On Thursday, the finance minister announced the start of a sale process for the airline, which involves the sale of at least 51% of TAP, with 5% of the company remaining for employees, as happened in the privatization carried out by the PSD government. .
