The 26-year-old Russian was arrested this Sunday morning on the roadway of the April 25 bridge, heading south-north, after climbing tens of meters over a rocky section and the first pillar on the south side of the bridge. . Although more people were seen doing this, this was the only one caught. The crime, which could be classified as breaking into a place closed to the public, led to the curtailment of the circulation.
The rise of the Russian was recorded at 07:00. The PSP immediately mobilized its forces, especially near the bus station at the entrance to the bridge span, on the south side. It did not take long for the PSP traffic department officers to come across the young Russian. He managed to climb tens of meters up the pole, cross the railway track and reach the car traffic zone. By that time, the PSP had already ordered the complete cessation of rail and road traffic in the South-North direction.
The young man had at least two cameras and a cell phone with him. He justified the crime committed with the intention of taking photographs on the bridge. He was notified to appear as a judge today at the Lisbon Justice Campus.
Let us recall that in April 2022, the PSP detained five young Englishmen who were caught after climbing the same bridge to a height of 200 meters. They practiced parkour (an extreme sport) and published videos on the Internet.
