The body of a man in his 40s was discovered this afternoon in the Malkhada canal on the Boko River in Ilyawu. The alarm was raised at 15:26 and the Ilyavu Fire Department was mobilized to the scene.
For what CM As it turned out, the body lay in the water for several days. At the time of discovery, the victim did not have any identification.
The Indian man worked as a night security guard at a construction site in Mamodeiro, Aveiro. He had been missing for three days and was reported to authorities by his boss. The victim’s mobile phone signal was detected in Areana, Vagosh, an area adjacent to the river mouth, and linked to the location where the body was eventually found, Ilyavu.
The body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Aveiro for an autopsy.
The NDP and NCIS were called.
The judicial police were also called and are now investigating the circumstances of the death.
