A new director-general of health has been selected as the health minister after the Commission for Recruitment and Selection for Public Administration (CReSAP) failed to find three worthy candidates to present to government.
According to documents on the CReSAP website, since the repetition of the competition failed to produce a list of three names of “worthy candidates” that could be proposed to the government, the Minister of Health was able to choose who to nominate. , from which the profile defined by the introductory notice corresponded.
Before appointing Rita Manuel Sa Machado Duarte, Manuel Pizarro asked CReSAP to carry out an appropriate assessment and the committee found the curriculum suitable for the position.
“The information contained in the resume and self-assessment questionnaire highlights the technical and professional skills that contribute to a positive assessment of the performance of the position in question,” CReSAP concludes.
The opening of a competitive recruitment procedure for the position of Director General of Health was proposed by the Minister of Health. The competitive procedure was introduced in CReSAP on May 3 this year, and the initial opening notice was published in the Diário da Republica at the beginning of June.
The competition was opened again for a repeat on July 21, 2023, but CReSAP was unable to find three worthy candidates to nominate him for the post of Health Minister, so Manuel Pizarro eventually became the new Director General of Health.
