According to the union, this is “an injustice compounded by the impact on the amount paid for overtime.”
The SNE’s demands focus on “beginning the process of revising the career and salary table with representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health, correcting the stagnation of nurses’ wages over the past nine years by signing a protocol of negotiations.” for a Global Workforce Agreement.”
The SNE strike from November 3 to December 31 will be joined by a strike by the Democratic Union of Nurses of Portugal (Sindepor), which has already announced an end to overtime, demanding the immediate start of negotiations with the guardianship authorities over a quarry that corrects inequality.
“The SNA’s response capacity is deteriorating every day, harming all Portuguese people, regardless of whether they are SNA professionals. [Serviço Nacional de Saúde] or not. We have no doubt that more satisfied workers mean a better social media response, and nurses represent the largest professional class in this field,” Sindepor said in a statement.
