An earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale was felt this Thursday in the municipality of Figueira da Foz, Coimbra district, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) reported.
The earthquake, whose epicenter is located about four kilometers west of Figueira da Foz, was recorded at 20:42 by the Continente Seismic Network stations.
“This earthquake, according to the information available to date, did not cause any personal or property damage and was felt with a maximum intensity of III/IV (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipality of Figueira da Foz,” the IPMA emphasized.
