The Angolan Party also expressed concern about the “daily increase in hunger and suffering among the Angolan population” and considered that the measures taken by leader João Lourenço (President of Angola and the MPLA, the ruling party) were “palliative, ad hoc.” , electoral, unstable and unpatriotic.”
UNITA also decided to “mobilize national and international public opinion” to push for the institutionalization of local government in Angola in 2024.
