The National Union of Police (SNOP), in a memorandum on proposed amendments to the 2024 state budget, which the minister is presenting in Parliament on Tuesday, says PSP members are losing money compared to PJ members in the form of additional remuneration. They regret that eight years after the adoption of the Statute, they are still not regulated, applying what was decided in 2009, and the CoR updated it this year.
SNOP counted and stated that the police inspector received 86.68 euros for the Saturday picket and increased to 156.58 euros (80% more). In PSP it is limited to a maximum of 154.99 euros, while for agents it should be 187.54 euros, for bosses 200.61 euros and for officers 212.16 euros.
Regarding the shift allowance, they regret that in PSP it is a fixed amount (not a percentage) and has not been updated since 2010. At a percentage of 25% of the base, the agent would receive an additional 72.20 euros/month. , the boss loses 180.69 euros, and the official – 223.23 euros, reports SNOP.
Officials point to the aging of the PSP and warn that if the number of departures in 2022 is reached this year, the accumulated balance over four years will be negative by 180 police officers (there are more departures, albeit conditional, than entries), since 5 thousand entries have been announced. and only 2804 have been implemented. They advocate the closure of police stations in Lisbon and Porto.
