US Democrats this Friday held a moment of silence on the steps of the US Capitol in memory of the police officers who were victims of the attack on Congressional headquarters exactly two years ago.
On this occasion, the leadership of the Democratic Party in Congress surrounded themselves with the families of 140 Capitol police officers who were seriously injured during the attack by a group of supporters of former President Donald Trump (2017-2021) who invaded the building to try to prevent the process of ratifying Joe Biden’s victory at the elections in 2020.
During a short ceremony, House Democratic Minority Leader Hakim Jeffreys paid tribute to the police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6, 2021, as well as the five dead, one of whom was a member of the security police.
