The ex-boyfriend of Monica Silva, a pregnant woman missing from Mourtos since the beginning of October and suspected of qualified murder, desecration of a corpse and aggravated abortion, was in pre-trial detention this Saturday.
The bailiff announced the enforcement action at around 8:30 p.m., at the end of the second day of judicial questioning at the Aveiro court. On Friday, Monica Silva’s ex-partner agreed to speak and explain all the evidence collected, including expert testimony and cell phone analysis. During interrogation, he assured that he had not been with his ex-girlfriend and swore his innocence.
The Aveiro Judicial Police (SP) will not rest until they find the body. A local resident reported this on Friday. CM a sickening smell coming from a well whose vegetation two weeks ago “wasn’t that high.” PJ was at the scene and is monitoring it.
This Saturday, firefighters are preparing to enter the well where the PS believes Monica Silva’s body is located. Work should continue for several hours throughout the night under artificial light. Firefighters drained water from a well in the Ria de Aveiro area, but a new layer of water appeared. The family went there either on Friday or Saturday.
The 33-year-old woman, who was seven months pregnant, was last seen on October 3 when she left home for a pregnancy ultrasound and shortly after called her son to say she was coming home, which did not happen.
