The family of Monica Silva and members of the public went this Sunday for the third day in a row to the well where they have been searching for the missing pregnant woman in Mourtos since the beginning of October. In the area near Ria de Aveiro, there is a new suspicious well that people are searching, but firefighters and the Judicial Police (PJ) are not on site.
Searches in Aveiro have been suspended and should only be resumed if it is proven that an item of clothing found during the searches belonged to the missing woman. In this condition, divers must enter the well. This Sunday, only GNR representatives came to the site, given the persistent demands of Monica Silva’s family and the public to get closer to this and other wells.
TO CMAunt Philomena Silva said the officer did not show her all the clothing items collected during the search.
On Saturday, firefighters drained the water, but a new layer of water appeared. Operators worked all night using artificial lighting.
The 33-year-old woman, who was seven months pregnant, was last seen on October 3 when she left home for a pregnancy ultrasound and shortly after called her son to say she was coming home, which did not happen.
