Brazil’s former vice president Hamilton Murao criticized on Tuesday the treatment of radical demonstrators who raided and desecrated the tri-power headquarters in Brasilia on Sunday.
“The indiscriminate detention of more than 1,200 people held in dangerous conditions in federal police facilities in Brasilia shows that the new government, in keeping with its Marxist-Leninist roots, is acting in an amateurish, inhumane and illegal manner,” said Jair Bolsonaro, vice president of the government, who left his post on the last day of 2022.
“Brazil and the people who have been detained expect swift action from our acting parliamentarians and from real human rights organizations,” the senator-elect added on Twitter.
