About fifty nurses gathered in front of the Ministry of Health to demand equality between their careers and higher technical careers in public administration, accusing the government of a lack of political will.
Around 1:30 a.m., protesters began gathering on Lisbon’s João Crisostomo Avenue, raising the red and blue flags of the Portuguese Nurses Union (AKU), calling for a protest, and banners with slogans such as “parity yes, no discrimination.”

The AKP met a week ago with Health Ministry officials, but at the end of the meeting accused the authorities of a “clear lack of will” to solve the problems.
