According to a civil protection source, a fire broke out this Sunday in a large warehouse belonging to a toy company in Montijo, Setubal district.
A source from the Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Setúbal Peninsula told Lusa that the fire, which was alarmed at 5:57 a.m., was contained at 12:42 p.m. and restoration work was underway at 3 a.m. :40 p.m.
In response to the incident, 57 fire tenders from various corporations in the district were mobilized this afternoon, supported by 24 vehicles.
In addition to the Interplay warehouse, the fire also destroyed a warehouse belonging to an energy drink company and another warehouse belonging to the Padel sports complex.
The warehouse is located on the so-called Estrada do Pau Queimado street in Montijo, he explained.
In addition to the PNR, operatives and resources from the fire brigades of Montijo, Alcochete, Seixal, Casillas, Moita, Pinhala Novo, Barreiro, Aguas de Moura, Chanha and Palmela are participating in the fight against the flames.
