The 34 football clubs were divided into eight groups, six with four clubs each and two with five, in order to put the League I and II emblems in the competition from the start, with no knockouts before the group stage. .
The 16th competition will kick off during the World Cup in Qatar, which runs from November 21 to December 18, followed by quarter-finals where the leaders of each of the eight groups will face off against each other.
The winners of these eight groups will face each other in one quarter-final game from 20 to 23 December before the “final four” at the Leiria Municipal Stadium from 24 to 28 January 2023.
Porto, Sporting CP and Benfica finished in Groups A, B and C respectively in last year’s classification, as did Sporting de Braga, Gil Vicente, Vitoria, Santa Clara ” and “Famalican” between groups D and H.
