The Portuguese Blue Helmets in the Central African Republic this week donated various school supplies to an educational complex in Bangui, the country’s capital, where Portugal has been on a United Nations mission since 2017.
“This school complex, which also includes an orphanage, received these materials from the commander of the Portuguese forces in order to improve the children’s living conditions and increase their self-esteem, pride and self-confidence,” explains the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Forces.
Detachment 12 National, deployed as part of the United Nations mission MINUSCA, delivered various school books collected by its predecessor forces to the “Complexe Scolaire Tchemakoto”. Under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Nuno Laranjeiro Neto, it has 215 soldiers, most of whom are army paratroopers, including a Navy soldier and three Air Force soldiers who make up the air traffic control tactical team.
