A second cell phone belonging to the main suspect in the death of a missing pregnant woman in Mourtos was found in Torreira, Pesteiros and Vila Nova de Gaia on the night the woman disappeared. Thus, Fernando Valente’s version that he was at home at the time of the events is rejected.
The new data matches the data obtained using the GPS of Fernando’s car.
Fernando, Monica Silva’s former partner, turned off one of his mobile phones on the night of October 3 and turned it on again only at 16:00 the next day in Vila Nova de Gaia. At the same time, the 33-year-old woman’s mobile phone was in Cuba. Authorities believe it was a maneuver to hide their involvement in the case.
Fernando Valente was taken into custody last Saturday on suspicion of qualified murder, desecration of a corpse and aggravated abortion.
Monica, 33, disappeared on the night of October 3 after leaving her house after an ultrasound. He even called his eldest son and said that he would be home in ten minutes, but did not give any further news.
The judicial police and the family do not believe that Monica is still alive. An investigation into the body has already been carried out in several places, namely in a well near the woman’s house and on the banks of the Ria de Aveiro.
