The young man was put in jail, and when rescuers arrived at the scene, there was nothing to be done. According to the Guardia Civil and the local press, the accident happened at a small curve, but with good visibility, the cause of the head-on collision has not yet been explained. The truck driver was not injured.
The body of the fatal victim was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Badajoz for an autopsy. Only after that he will be transported to Portugal for funeral ceremonies.
