A Guinean child needs help removing a stray bullet that hit him in the leg during a military firefight on the 1st, a family source told Lusa.
Speaking to Lusa, the child’s mother, Paula Ko, said the bullet penetrated the tin roof of the house and hit her daughter in the leg, who was taken the next day to Simão Mendes Hospital, the main medical facility in Guinea-Bissau.
“She and I went to the hospital and had an X-ray done, but they told us that they couldn’t remove the bullet from her leg. She cries every day from pain. They only gave her some pills,” Paula said. Co.
Now the mother turns to “people of good will” for help and explains that her daughter cannot go to school or sit for a long time due to pain in her leg.
The family’s request is for support so that the child can take the bullet out of the country.
The parents have already filed a complaint with the judicial police.
