The grenade was put up for sale at the Feira das Velharias e Antiquidades exhibition, which took place on Saturday in Viseu. The situation forced the PSP to isolate the area and establish a security perimeter to collect the explosive device.
The grenade was reportedly discovered by a Navy soldier passing through the area. Upon discovering the explosive device, he alerted the police, according to the report. CM with a police source. Agents from the Viseu command were mobilized to the scene, as well as an explosive disposal team from PSP Porto, which took away the already neutralized object.
The seller, 62 years old, had a PSP installed. He told authorities he did not know he had an explosive device. He added that he was in the business of buying and selling old things and antiques and that he acquired this property together with others in the Leiria area.
The grenade was confiscated by the PSP, and then the case was transferred to the prosecutor’s office.
