The President of the European Commission said this Wednesday that the trilogue agreement on the migration pact would give the European Union (EU) the necessary tools to respond to “hostile countries that want to destabilize” the 27 countries.
“The Pact will ensure that Member States share efforts responsibly, demonstrating solidarity with those who [países] protect our external borders while preventing illegal migration into the EU,” Ursula von der Leyen said in a statement.
Following the trial agreement, the EU and member states have “tools to respond quickly in crisis situations,” especially when the 27 countries face “high amounts of illegal migration or instrumentalization by hostile countries that deliberately try to destabilize” the situation. EUROPEAN UNION
