Ortega Smith, vice president of Vox, threw a bottle of water at Eduardo Rubinho, deputy of Mas Madrid, during the plenary meeting of the Madrid City Council this Friday.
Eduardo Rubinho condemned the behavior of Ortega Smith through a post on the social network X.”What Ortega Smith did to me in plenary session is called fascism. Never in my years in politics have I encountered a situation as violent and involving physical and verbal intimidation as this. This is intolerable and he must resign,” wrote deputy spokesman Mas Madrid, a member of the Madrid Assembly since 2015.
Eduardo Rubiño’s party criticized the “violence of the far right” and supported the urgency of Ortega Smith’s “immediate” dismissal.
The second vice-president of the Spanish government, Yolanda Diaz, considered the incident “totally unacceptable.” “Ortega Smith cannot remain in office for another minute,” he wrote on the social network X.
