Every year, the story of a child who is separated from his family at Christmas is watched with joy by thousands of people around the world. But this time, for an American grandmother, reality has surpassed fiction.
A nine-year-old child mistakenly boarded a plane in Philadelphia on Thursday. His grandmother was waiting for him in Fort Myers, Florida, but he landed more than 250 kilometers away in Orlando.
A family member of a child who was on her first flight drove a car to where her grandson had landed. Spirit Airlines, the airline responsible for the error, offered to reimburse the travel expenses.
“I want them [a companhia] Call me. Explain to me how my grandson went to Orlando. How did this happen? Was he removed from the plane? Did the hostess let him go alone after his mother left him the necessary papers? Was he the only one who boarded the wrong plane?” the grandmother asked incredulously. VINK-TVlocal television.
In a statement, Spirit Airlines said it had launched an investigation to investigate what happened. “We apologize to the family for the error.”
