ABOUT
2007 FT3, which is 341 meters long and weighs 54 million tons, will release energy equivalent to 2.6 billion tons of TNT. However, this is nothing compared to the dinosaur-killing asteroid, which was 6 kilometers in size. This is not the first time that the possibility, albeit insignificant, of a collision with the Earth has been recognized; this already happened in 2019. The date currently indicated is October 5, 2024, that is, the current year.Despite the difficulties in tracking its path, astronomers see no reason to worry. NASA experts who monitor the orbit of objects that could pose a danger to our planet guarantee that there is nothing to fear in the next 100 years. But they will continue to try to follow the trail of 2007 FT3, even to remove the “lost” asteroid from the risk list.
