The population of Seramil in the Braga region did not allow the parish priest to celebrate Mass this Sunday morning.
“We don’t want to say Mass and we don’t need a priest here,” said Jorge, one of many people gathered outside the church.
The protest was led to by what parishioners believed was an unreasonable refusal to respond to requests from the population. People are threatening to lock the church.
The priest answered CM saying that “faith and the celebration of the Eucharist is always a proposal: some welcome it, others do not. So, when you want – if you want – to enjoy this happy encounter with the Living Jesus Christ, just let me know that, as I have always done, I will organize the agenda so that we can have a beautiful, noble and dignified celebration of our greatest Mystery of Faith , memories of the Lord’s Passover.”
