The Conference of Party Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira approved this Monday the creation of a parliamentary commission to investigate “the support of economic groups by the regional government and the alleged “invented works”” by the executive branch.
“The commission will begin work in the coming days. The chairman will be from the Social Democratic Party, the vice president and secretary from the Socialist Party, and the speaker will be from one of the parties with a parliamentary majority,” the president said. This Commission of Inquiry arose following accusations made by the former SDP deputy in the Assembly of the Republic, an elected circle of Madeira, Sergio Márques, in statements to Diário de Notícias regarding “works invented since 2000” when Alberto João Jardim (SDP) was President of the Executive of Madeira and economic groups that grew up with Garden Finger.

On Thursday, the Assembly of the Republic formalized the resignation of the PSD deputy Sergio Marques and his replacement, Joao Dinis Santos Ramos, with the approval of the corresponding opinion at the plenary session.
At this Monday’s meeting of representatives of parties with seats in the Madeira Assembly, a monthly debate with the regional government was also scheduled for February 2 on the subject of education.
Another subject of analysis were two PS proposals to revise the Constitution and the Political and Administrative Statute of Madeira.
“These two legislative initiatives were sent to the Final Commission on Deepening Autonomy and Reforming the Political System,” said the chairman of the regional parliament.
This commission, chaired by MP José Prada (PSD), will also analyze proposals from the SDS, CDS-PP and PS to revise the Standing Orders of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, said José Manuel Rodríguez.
