The National Directorate of Chegi, proposed by President André Ventura, was elected this Sunday with 90.2% of the vote at the party’s sixth congress, with António Tangier Correa, Pedro Frazão and Marta Trindade reappointed as vice-presidents.
This was stated by the chairman of the board of the party’s highest body, deputy Jorge Galveyas.
Andre Ventura proposed no changes to the leadership that had existed since the last congress.
António Tangier Correa, MP Pedro Frasan and Marta Trindade remain vice-presidents.
Parliamentary leader Pedro Pinto, deputies Rui Paulo Sousa, Rita Matias and Diogo Pacheco de Amorim, as well as Ricardo Regaglia and Patricia Carvalho continue to serve as deputies.
As for the National Council, the highest body between congresses, the list headed by João Tilly, which influences governance, received 80.1% of the votes, electing 27 councilors, while Israel Pontes’ list elected three.
The single list of the Council of National Jurisdiction was elected with 83.5% of the votes, while the Council of the Convention and the National Council, which also ran unopposed, received 89% of the votes, Jorge Galveyas also reported.
Thanks to these results, João Lopes Aleixo was elected President of the Council of the National Assembly and the National Council, Felicidade Vital as Vice-President, and Pedro Miguel Pinto and Nuno Araujo as secretaries.
Bernardo Pessanha was re-nominated as President of the National Jurisdictional Council, while Cristina Rodrigues and Ana Figueiredo were elected as “alternates”. Fernando Pedroso and Ana Maria Blaufuchs also joined this unique list as candidates for assistant positions.
The voting for the national bodies took place on the morning of the last day of the 6th National Congress of Chegi, which started on Friday in Viana do Castelo.
