According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), nine areas of the continent are under a yellow warning this Thursday and Friday due to the forecast of sometimes heavy rain that could be accompanied by thunderstorms.
The areas of Évora, Faro, Setubal, Santarem, Lisbon, Leiria, Beja, Castelo Branco and Portalegre will be under a yellow warning from 21:00 this Thursday and will last until Friday.
The IPMA has also placed the areas of Porto, Viana do Castelo and Braga under a yellow warning level until 9am this Thursday due to rough seas, with south-westerly waves of 4 to 5 meters expected.
A yellow warning is issued by IPMA if a risk situation arises for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.
The Institute forecasts for this Thursday on the continent as a whole very cloudy skies, rain, more intense towards the end of the day in the Center and South, strong winds in places in the highlands and coastal strips and a slight decline.
The minimum temperature will range from 7 degrees Celsius (in Braganca and Guarda) to 15 (in Faro), and the maximum temperature will range from 10 (in Braganca) to 18 (in Santarem, Leiria and Faro).
