A 40-year-old man died this Sunday morning after the high-displacement motorcycle he was driving crashed at Estrada Nacional 1, about 1 kilometer from the Vale de Judeus circuit, in Alcoentre, Azambuja.
The accident occurred at 10:50 at kilometer 58.6 of National Bandstand 1 in Vale de Eguas, Alcoentre.
“The victim was either going to or returning from a motorcycle cluster. He lost control of the vehicle he was driving,” Commander Eiffel Garcia of the Alcoentre Volunteer Fire Department told CM.
5 vehicles and 15 firefighters from the corporation were mobilized to the scene, as well as GNR resources and a medical vehicle from the Vila Franca de Xira Hospital.
“Resuscitation efforts were still carried out, but death was pronounced at the scene,” added Eiffel Garcia.
The road was closed at the scene until approximately 1:45 p.m.
