Former US President Donald Trump is the favorite to win Tuesday’s Republican primary in New Hampshire, while former ambassador Nikki Haley is trying to stay in the race.
Haley will try to take advantage of the fact that the New Hampshire primary allows voters registered as independents (not just registered Democrats) to vote, which takes away some of Trump’s advantage in the presidential race.
Polls show Haley getting nearly 60 percent of the vote among independent voters and more than 70 percent among self-described moderates, but that advantage evaporates when it comes to Republican voters, where Trump emerges with 67 percent of voting intentions.
