A fast train collided with a truck in the eastern Czech Republic this Wednesday, killing one person and injuring 19 others, local authorities said.
Czech Railways said the train driver was killed in the accident and the injured, none of whom were in danger of dying, were taken to nearby hospitals.
According to police, 60 people were on the train at the time of the accident.
The accident occurred in the morning when a fast train heading to the capital Prague collided with a truck at an intersection near the town of Bohumin.
The cause of the accident remains to be determined, although there are indications that the truck stopped on the tracks.
Authorities said an investigation into the cause of the accident was underway. However, the railway line was closed until further notice.
