The family of Diana Santos, a Portuguese woman dismembered in France, will have to pay about seven thousand euros to transport her body to Portugal. The information was confirmed in CM son of the victim.
In September 2022, Diana Santos, an expat from Luxembourg, was found dead in Mont-Saint-Martin, France. The woman was beheaded and dismembered.
German police and prosecutors in Diekirch, Luxembourg, confirmed that other body parts were found in Temmels, Germany, near the border.
It is believed that the crime was motivated by a marriage of convenience between Diana and one of the suspects.
“I don’t know what was the motive for this terrible crime. But I hope that one day the authorities will be able to give me this information, even if it hurts,” said the victim’s son.
The uncle of the man Diana married about a year before her death has been in custody since October 2021, but the trial is still pending as forensic tests continue.
Another suspect, Gibran Banhakeya, is considered by authorities to be the main culprit in the crime.
