The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) extended the yellow warning for Braganca and Guarda due to the cold weather forecast until 06:00 Saturday, and for the rest until Thursday.
Viseu, Evora, Porto, Faro, Vila Real, Setubal, Santarem, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Beja, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra, Portalegre and Braga will be under yellow warning until 11:00 Thursday . due to the maintenance of low values of the minimum temperature.
A yellow alert, the third least severe, is issued by IPMA whenever a risk situation arises for certain weather-dependent activities.
IPMA is forecasting continued cold weather on the continent this Wednesday with some cloudiness or clear skies, temporarily showing periods of more cloudiness in the northeast of Trás os Montes and Beira Alta until the end of the morning.
The forecast also indicates light to moderate winds, strong in places in the highlands, especially until mid-morning and towards the end of the day, and frost formation.
Minimum temperatures will range from -5 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) to 5 (in Faro), while maximum temperatures will range from 3 (in Guarda) to 15 (in Faro).
