The US Treasury Department on Wednesday imposed sanctions on several individuals and entities it accuses of providing financial support to both the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force and the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah.
According to the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), those targeted generated “hundreds of millions of dollars” in income through the sale of goods produced in Iran, providing forms of preferential financing for Iranian forces and Hezbollah. “
Those appointed include Turkey-based global Iranian procurement, sales and transportation company Mira Ihracat Ithalat Petrol, as well as its director Ibrahim Talal al-Uwai.
