A woman, about 45 years old, received minor injuries this Thursday morning when the car she was traveling in crashed in Gondomar. As a result of the same incident, two female students from the Escola Infanta Dona Mafalda school, aged about 15, suffered minor injuries. However, there was no need to take the young people to the hospital.
The driver, who works as a teacher in this school division, lost control of the car while she was parking. Apparently, due to a mechanical failure, the car crashed into the school gate and came to rest inside the building.
The alarm was raised at around 9am by Areosa Rio Tinto firefighters on Rua da Campainha in Rio Tinto. Valbohm firefighters were also mobilized.
PSP officers were called to the scene. A team of INEM psychologists was also called in to provide support to the school’s students. The victim was taken to Santo Antonio Hospital in Porto.
